This Queen Anne silver bleeding bowl was made in London in 1704 by John Gibbons and measures just over 7 inches from the handle across and is 4 5/8 inches in dia across the top, it has a nicely pierced cast handle to the side bearing the engraved initials MS to the front and IH to the back and is fully hallmarked to the rim and also to the underside of the handle with the lions head erased. A very nice bleeding bowl in very good condition weighing 5.0 ounces or 187 grams.
