This very rare fully hallmarked and engraved Charles II silver box was made in London in 1681 by Samuel Hawkes (Mitchells page 490) and measures 2 inches in dia by 0.75 inches deep, it is engraved to the pull off lid with a flower and is fully and clearly hallmarked inside the base and also inside the lid with the makers mark and lion passant, a very nice substantial box in good condition.
