This engraved and scenic Victorian silver vinaigrette was made in Birmingham in 1839 by Daniel Pettifer and depicts Windsor Castle, it measures 1/5 inches long by 1.25 inches wide and is 6/16 inches deep, it has tartan design engraving to the reverse with a central shaped cartouche bearing the initials SB and to the front is a view of Windsor Castle with trees to the foreground and a boat being rowed past on the river, the sides are shaped and engine turned engraved and it has a lovely silver gilt interior with a very pretty grille, it is fully hallmarked in the base and to the inside of the kid with the monarchs head, makers mark and lion passant and also to the grille with the monarchs head. A very nice vinaigrette in very good condition.
