Large and heavy armorial George I/II silver tobacco box London 1720/30 Edward Home
This large and heavy armorial George I/II silver tobacco box was made in London 1720-1730 by Edward Home, it measures 4.85 inches in length by 3 5/8 inches wide and is 1.25 inches deep, it has a concealed hinge to the lid which is hidden by an engraved and pelleted strap and a large and florid coat of arms adorns the lid and to the underside there is also a crest. It is marked inside the base with the makers mark struck thrice and is in very good condition, an unusually large box and a rare find weighing 8.3 ounces.
