Price £ 3,950
This superb pair of William and Mary silver castors were made in London in 1692 by IL over a fleur de lys and measures 5.5 inches tall by approx 1.5 inches wide and are 2.5 inches in dia across the flared bases. They have a gadrooned border to the base with rib decoration above leading into a plain body with a girdle that leads up to a bayonet fitting top that is well pierced and has gadroon decoration to the tops and a plain round finial. They are fully hallmarked to the side and to the tops with a lion passant and makers mark (one fairly rubbed) and are in excellent condition with no problems and weigh 9.35 ounces or 290 grams, a lovely pair of castors as useful as the day they were made.
