Extremley rare Queen Anne Irish silver dog nose spoon Dublin C1703

Price £ 1,650

This extremely rare crested Queen Anne Irish silver dog nose spoon was made C1703 in Dublin, the makers mark is poorly struck but could be Joseph Walker by the shape of the punch it measures 7 7/8 inches in length and has a lovely period crest to the back of the stem, the bowl has a long, well defined rat tail to the back of the bowl and the bowl is well formed with no major signs of wear, the stem itself is faceted where the bowl meets the stem and it is in very good condition and weighs 2.3 ounces or 72 grams - a very rare early Irish spoon and a must for any collection - purchased from Peter Waldron some years ago.
