Very good quality George II silver porringer London 1749 Humphrey Payne

This very good quality George II silver porringer was made in London in 1749 by Humphrey Payne and measures 3.75 inches tall by 6.25 inches handle to handle and is 4 inches in dia across the top, it has a large florid cartouche to the front with the centre bearing the initials JES in flowing script and a rope work design towards the top of the bowl with engraved devices either side and the bottom third of the body is fluted. The scrolled handles either side are ribbed and it is fully and clearly hallmarked under the base, a very nice quality porringer in very good condition weighing 7.6 ounces or 237 grams.
