This fine pair of armorial George II silver sauce boats were made in London in 1738 by John Pollock and measure 7.5 inches long by 4.25 inches wide and are 4 inches tall to the tops of the handles, they each have a coat of arms to one side and stand on 3 large cast lion mask legs with hairy paw feet, the cast scrolled handles have acanthus leaf thumb pieces and they are fully hallmarked underneath (the makers marks have been lightly struck) They are in excellent condition and as useful as the day they were made and weigh 27 ounces or 843 grams.
