Large fine provincial Charles I silver seal spoon C1640 Ellis Collection

This fine large provincial seal top spoon was made C1640 and is marked with an R thrice on the stem and also inside the bowl - this was formally thought to be from Rochester and was lot 112 in the Ellis collection 13th Nov 1935 where it sold to Mr Martin for £30, it measures almost 8 inches in length and has a nicely defined and gilded seal bearing the pin pricked initials of IH over WF and the date 1680, the bowl is large, well formed and of good gauge and shows no signs of wear and it weighs 2.10 ounces or 65 grams, a very nice spoon.
