This very nice quality George I Britannia silver tobacco box was made in London in 1717 by James Seabrook and measures 3.7 inches in length by 2 7/8 inches at its widest and is 0.75 inches deep and has a cast portrait medallion of Charles I in profile after John Obrisset to the pull off lid and has plain moulded borders and to the underside there are two unusual crests, it is fully hallmarked to the base although rubbed and clearly inside the lid with the makers mark and lions head erased, a super box with a lovely feel to it weighing 4.1 ounces.
