This quality pair of armorial early George III silver sauce or gravy boats were made in London in 1763 by William Skeen and measure 6.5 inches long and are plain in design with a cut border, scrolled handles with acanthus leaf caps and stand on shell shouldered feet, they are fully and clearly hallmarked under the bases and have a lovely coat of arms to one side. They are in very good condition and weigh 17.7 ounces or 551 grams and are as useful as the day they were made.
