This good quality crested George I silver Hanoverian basting spoon was made in London in 1716 by William Street, it measures 13.5 inches in length and has a ribbed Hanoverian stem with an unusual crest to the back of a Cockrell standing atop a bugle, it is fully and clearly hallmarked to the back of the stem and has a large and well formed bowl of good gauge with a good tip. A super basting spoon in very good condition weighing 5.8 ounces or 177 grams.
