Good large George III silver coconut cup London 1817 Richard Rugg
This large George III silver coconut cup was made in London in 1817 by Richard Rugg and measures 6 inches tall by approx 4.5 inches across it’s widest point and is 3 5/8 inches in dia across the base. It has a bright cut scalloped border to the top of the cup with a further band of engraving to the cup on the underside where the nuts sits in and the silver pedestal base is hallmarked underneath with the date letter, monarchs head and lion passant and to the rim of the foot with the makers mark. The nut has a lovely patina and colour to it and apart from natural striations has no damage and is of good gauge. A lovely coconut cup larger than the norm in very good condition.
