This lovely quality crested oval George III Scottish Scottish silver box was made C1800 by John McKay and measures 2 1/8 inches tall by 1 3/8 inches wide and is crested to the hinged lid with a raised hand holding a broken spear and the motto TOUJOURS PREST above and the flowing initials of JC below, this is the crest of the clan Carmichael, it has bright cut engraving around the lid and across the hinge and is marked inside the lid with the makers mark, the thistle and the monarchs head,
